Short Term Stay Visa (up to 90 days)
Sightseeing & Visiting Friends/Relatives in Japan

 

Required Documents
* Please do NOT staple any document together and please use paper clips instead.

 

1. Passport

Valid until the trip to Japan and return is completed to Australia

Signed by the bearer

Not damaged (torn out pages, water damaged, or unreadable ID page, etc )

At least 2 spread blank visa pages

* If your passport is damaged or there is no spread blank page, please renew it beforehand.

If your current Australian visa is linked to your previous passport, please bring it as well.

 

2. Australian Visa (VEVO)

Access to VEVO website and bring the printed VEVO information as your latest visa status please.

* Visa "Grant Notice" is NOT acceptable. Only the latest VEVO information is acceptable.

Valid until the trip to Japan and return is completed to Australia

If your current Australian visa is linked to your previous passport, please bring it as well.

If you hold a PR visa, please ensure that the Re-entry permit still is valid until the trip to Japan

    and return is completed to Australia. If not, please renew it beforehand.

If you hold a Bridging visa “A”, you need to change it to Bridging visa “B” beforehand.

If you hold a tourist/visitor visa, we CANNOT accept your application.

Please apply for a Japanese visa in your home country.

 

3. Visa Application Form

Please download and print the Visa Application Form.

Checked the Visa Application Writing Sample.

Please complete the form by filling ALL THE LINES without any lef t blank. (See Sample writing)

If no information is applicable for the question, please put N/A or No (See Sample writing).

Your signature must be the same as on your passport.

Please do NOT staple the application forms together.

 

4. Passport Photo x 1

Size :4.5cm x 3.5cm (Australian Passport Photo Size), 4.5cm x 4.5cm or 2 in x 2 in

Must be taken within the last 6 months

Must be glued (not stapled) on the form at reserved photo place

If you had any cosmetic surgery, please declare it.

Not damaged (torn out pages, water damaged, or unreadable ID page, etc )

 

5. Flight Booking Confirmation

 

Please provide ALL the destination flight booking confirmations from the accredited travel agent/airline company.

Eg. If you travel from Sydney to China first, China to Japan, and return flight

from Japan to China, China to Sydney. All the flight details are required.

Full flight details should be from an accredited travel agent or airline.

Make sure that the confirmation including flight details and your full name as a passenger.

If you will not come back to Sydney, please provide a typed explanation letter about the reason.

* We do not require the purchase of tickets, but we do require a confirmed reservation.

  We are not responsible for tickets which may be unusable due to the delay or denial of a visa.

 

6. Bank Account Details






Savings Bank Account

Must provide your "Saving Account" Statement or Transaction Record.

Must provide your "Saving Account" Statement or Transaction List.

Your full name is shown as the account holder.

Your current residential address is shown.

 

* If it shows your previous address, please update to the current one.

Or please provide an official document showing your address and full name.

 

Have sufficient funds.

Have most recent 3 months transaction records.

* If your current bank statement does not cover the most recent 3 months,

please provide printed online transaction records besides the statement.


Other Bank Accounts

Other bank accounts such as Home loan are optional to submit.

But if you have more money in other accounts, it is better to bring them.

* Please remember that the credit card account is not counted.

Have most recent 3 months transaction records of the account

Your full name is shown as the account holder.

Your current residential address is shown.


Financial Information of Minor Applicants or Applicants Who Have Insufficient Funds

*If you are a minor with no bank account or do not have much money,

but someone can financially support you, you may provide the following.

Your saving bank account (see the details above) if you have.

Even if not much money is in the account, please show it to us.

Saving and other bank accounts of your financial supporter such as Parent or Partner

Letter from your financial supporter mentioning that they are willing to support you

* Please include your and her/his full name, the relationship and her/his signature.

Official document showing the relationship such as Birth certificate and Marriage certificate.

Passport photocopy of your supporter - ID, photo and signature pages

 

7. Student ID

Student card / ID must be valid.

Please bring the original card / ID and its photo copy (both sides).

Confirmation enrollment letter from your school can be acceptable instead of your Student ID.

But COE (Confirmation Of Enrollment) is unacceptable.

 

8. Next Country Visa after Japan

If you travel to another country after Japan, please obtain the visa beforehand.

Please bring the visa of the country.

Visa must be valid until the trip to Japan and return is completed to Australia.



 
   MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA for Short Term Stay   
 

For those who want to apply for a MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA in the following nationalities, please check the link

and prepare the necessary documents on top of the single entry visa requirements, if you are eligible for a multiple entry visa.

 

- Nationals of India

- Nationals of Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam

- Nationals of China

 

 

 
    NOTE   
 

* The personal representative like a family member may apply for a visa on behalf with the original power of attorney/authorisation letter from the applicant. As long as the letter clearly mentions that the representative applies for him/her and collects his/her passport when the assessment is completed, the applicant does not have to come to our office in person. But the original letter must be submitted with the visa required documents together when applying and the personal representative must bring the own valid photo ID. *For the child’s visa application, the power of attorney is not required if the parent applies for him/her.
Example:The husband comes to our office in person to apply for his and his wife’s visas, and he brings the power of attorney from his wife. When the assessment is done, he may collect his and her passports together.

* Additional documents may be required if necessary.

* The minimum assessment time is 5 working days.
   It generally takes longer if additional documents are required for further assessment.

* There is NO priority processing service.

* Visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

* Documents submitted with the application will NOT be returned.
