Visa applications ONLY from the residents in NSW, NT and New Caledonia can be accepted.

Q. How can I obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)?
A. The COE should be applied for your sponsor (in this case, your spouse or their family) in Japan at their local Regional Immigration Services Bureau. Please see the Immigration Services Agency website for more information.
Q. How can I obtain an original copy of the family register (KOSEKI TOHON)?
A. Your Japanese family member can obtain this from the city hall or ward office where their domicile is registered. Please contact that office for further information.
Q. I have an original copy of the family register, but it has expired. Can I still use it to apply?
A. Please obtain a current copy of the family register to apply. You will also need it when you enter Japan.
