Visa Required Document Details

Short Term Stay

NOTE:

☆ Additional documents may be required if necessary.
☆ The minimum assessment time is 5 working days. It generally takes longer if additional documents are required for further assessment.

☆ There is NO priority processing service.
☆ Visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue.

☆ Telephone assistance is available if you need further information on 02-9250-1000 Monday-Friday, 10:00am-12:00pm or 3:00pm-5:00pm.

Short Term Stay Visa Requirement for NIS nationals


* Application Form (Sample writing - PDF Version and Slide show version(MS PowerPoint required and please run "slide show")

Sightseeing, Visiting Friends or Relatives (Up to 90 days)

The following must be submitted for the application of the visa:



1. A valid passport with at least 2 spread blank visa pages



2. A valid Australian visa (Please access the VEVO site to check and print out your your long term resident visa information.)

3. One completed visa application form
(Sample writing - PDF Version and Slide show version(MS PowerPoint required and please run "slide show")

* Please fill in all the lines without leaving any blank. If a question is not applicable, please put “N/A” or “No”.


4. One passport sized photo (4.5cm x 3.5cm (taken within 6 months))


5. Flight booking confirmations of all the destination flights from Sydney to Sydney (return) (full flight details from an accredited travel agent or airline)

* If you will not come back to Sydney or if you will not fly from one airport to another, please provide a typed explanation letter on how you are going to travel.

* We do not require the purchase of tickets or payment of any booking fee, but we do require a confirmed reservation. We are not responsible for tickets which may become unusable due to the delay or denial of a visa.


6. Bank account details of your savings or investment covering the most recent 3 months of transaction records up to the day of your application, including the current balance, current address and your full name.

* The current balance must show sufficient funds for the trip to Japan.


* Transactions printed out from online are acceptable.

8. A visa for the next country that you will visit after Japan (if applicable)

 


Business, School Trip or Attending an Academic Conference (Up to 90 days)

The following must be submitted for the application of the visa:


1. A valid passport with at least 2 spread blank visa pages

6. An original official letter with the signature of the responsible person
     a) from the applicant's Australian company (for Business Trip)
     b) from the applicant's Australian school (for School Trip)
     c) from the applicant's Australian university (for Attending an Academic Concerence)
*The letter must include the nature of the trip, applicant's position, full name, Date of Birth, Passport number, schedule, length of stay, and the company's financial responsibility for the expenses incurred during the trip and the signature of the responsible person. A scanned letter or e-signature/electronic signature is not acceptable.
7. An original letter of invitation including the responsible person’s signature or individual/company/institution seal.
    a) from the company in Japan(for Business Trip)
    b) from the home instituion for the academic conference in Japan (for Attending an Academic Concerence)
  *This document is not required for School Trip. A scanned letter or e-signature/electronic signature is not acceptable. 8. A visa for the next country that you will visit after Japan (if applicable)
9. Details of
    a) the conference (schedule, purpose, etc,) (for Attending an Academic Concerence)
    b) the itinerary of the school trip (for School Trip)
  *This document is not required for Business Trip.
10. Student ID (if applicable)



Transit (Up to 15 days)

The following must be submitted with the application for the visa:


1. A valid passport with at least 2 spread blank visa pages

2. A valid Australian visa (Please access to the VEVO site to check and print out your long term resident visa information.)

3. One completed visa application form
